For this opportunity, our client, a leading outdoor products company, is seeking a Corporate Controller for their corporate headquarters in Flushing, MI. The Corporate Controller will be responsible for the leadership, development, and performance of the company's financial accounting team in areas such as accounting, payroll, and employee benefits.
Additionally, the Controller will be responsible for leading the company efforts to improve workflow, process, and organizational design; ultimately designing and implementing the new accounting systems architecture for the future!
As the Corporate Controller your areas of responsibility would include:
o Core Accounting
o Risk Management
o Control and Reporting
o Cash Management
o Personnel and Benefits
o Specific accounting methods
o Customer & Channel Accounting
o Cost Accounting
o Supply Chain Accounting
o Leadership and talent management of financial accounting team
Required Education/
Experience:
o Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business. Master's degree preferred.
o CPA certification is required
o A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience in:
o Managing issues related to middle/upper-middle market wholesale distribution company with multi-sales channel environments
o Managing issues related to a complex global supply chain, including familiarity with the cash management, procurement and contracting
o Managing issues related to cash in a mid-market environment
o Working in an environment where data will need to be synthesized from multiple channels and systems
o Demonstrated experience in operations analysis and ownership of ERP financial management functions with responsibility for continually improving systems and processes
o Demonstrated experience in process and overall transformation
o Demonstrated experience in managing all the functions of a Controllership including GL, AP, AR, Cash, Compliance and Tax
o Demonstrated ability to envision and architect best practice mid-market accounting workflows, process, workforce and systems platforms while simultaneously working with and improving the current accounting construct.
o Advanced MS Excel and report writing skills
o Experience working in a cross-functional leadership role
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
