Our client, a leading manufacturer and wholesale distributor of outdoor products, is seeking a Corporate Controller for their corporate headquarters in Flushing, MI.
The Corporate Controller is responsible for company accounting, compliance and controls, as well as end-to-end accounting process for the company. This "hands on" position has overall responsibility for the full range of company financial management & accounting activity, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, transaction processing, credit and collections, cash, tax, compliance and internal audit. The position also provides operational accounting and transaction support and oversight for supply chain and procurement activity and the activity related to retail partner programs and credit.
Additionally, the Controller will be responsible for leading the company efforts to improve workflow, process, and organizational design; ultimately designing and implementing the new accounting systems architecture for the future!

Your background will look like this:
o Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
o A minimum of 3-5 years of public accounting experience with key focus around:
Managing issues related to middle/upper-middle market manufacturing and/or distribution company with multi-sales channel environments with a complex global supply chain, including familiarity with the cash management, procurement and contracting
Managing issues related to selling products and cash flow management in a mid-market environment
Working in an environment where data will need to be synthesized from multiple channels and systems
o Demonstrated experience in operations analysis and ownership of ERP financial management functions with responsibility for continually improving systems and processes
o Demonstrated experience in managing all the functions of a Controllership including GL, AP, AR, Cash, Compliance and Tax
o Demonstrated ability to envision and architect best practice mid-market accounting workflows, process, workforce and systems platforms while simultaneously working with and improving the current accounting construct.
o Advanced MS Excel and report writing skills
o Demonstrated ability to play a cross-functional leadership role
o CPA experience preferred

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
